Elder Abuse Knowledge Inventory

We are going to begin by looking at an inventory of statements about elder abuse. Please take a few minutes to fill them out now. You write “true” or “false” after each statement, according to your best understanding.

Please indicate whether the following statements are true or false.

  1. According to Illinois Department of Aging estimates, 8000 reports of elder abuse were filed in that state, during the year ending June 30th, 2004
  2. There has been a 150 % increase in reported cases of older abuse nationwide since 1986.
  3. A majority of those elders abused are men.
