Preparation Set-Up: The service is held in the chapel on a Sunday evening with the lights very, very dim. There are small votive candles in all the side windows and many candles (40) on the floor of the alter. In front of the alter is a large wooden sand box with legs in the shape of a cross filled with white sand. This was made by one of the members for the service. In the center of the cross is a large white pillar candle in the sand. As each person enters the chapel, they are handed an order of worship bulletin and a small unlit white taper candle. They enter to the music of the harp and silence is maintained until the service begins. Staff and Volunteers: Service is conducted by two ministers and the parish nurse. Two readers are needed and musicians include a harpist and pianist. Additionally there are two greeters at the door to hand out bulletins and candles.
